Scheana Shay finally spills her star-studded dating history in 'My Good Side,' giving Bravoholics the unfiltered, vulnerable Hollywood tea we’ve been dying to hear.
Scheana Shay, widely known from Vanderpump Rules, is sharing candid details about her past relationships with several celebrities in her new memoir, My Good Side, released July 22. The book chronicles Shay’s experiences dating or casually seeing a number of well-known actors and athletes, including John Mayer, Jesse Metcalfe, Shemar Moore, JC Chasez, and even “two actors from The Notebook.”
Reflecting on her dating history, Shay writes, “I said to myself, okay Scheana, you’ve tried dating (or at least hanging out and hooking up with) all of these celebrities… and that’s not really working out. It’s time to switch things up and date someone who’s under the radar.”
She explains her desire to move away from high-profile romances and avoid the “fanfare or complications” that come with being linked to famous people.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Shay elaborated on how the Hollywood dating scene has evolved, noting, “I don’t know how I did it in my early 20s – people don’t believe me! It was such a different time for going out in Hollywood.”
She recalled nights out where running into big stars was commonplace, saying, “Any night you could be at a club and like, ‘Oh, I’m at Leonardo DiCaprio’s table.’ And then Cuba Gooding Jr. walks up. Now Justin Timberlake’s here and I’m just the girl at the table. What is life?”
Shay also shared specific memories of Mayer, describing him as “very much a gentleman” and revealing that their conversations extended beyond casual encounters. She noted, “Andy [Cohen] and I have had a few conversations [about it] on some Watch What Happens Live commercial breaks.”
On their last meeting, Shay said it was “just a handshake,” a contrast to the more intimate moments they once shared, including Mayer’s fondness for phone sex. Regarding Jesse Metcalfe, Shay called him “an absolute sweetheart” but admitted their relationship was “a lot, really quickly” when they were younger. She also recalled a moment with Moore, describing how they reconnected at a Super Bowl party and eventually spent time together privately.
Fans of Vanderpump Rules and Bravo have responded enthusiastically to Shay’s memoir, appreciating her openness and vulnerability. Many longtime followers see this as the first time she’s fully addressed questions they’ve had about her personal life.
One fan noted on social media, “Scheana finally gave us the answers we’ve been wondering about for years. This is real honesty.”
My Good Side offers readers a more nuanced look at Shay beyond her reality TV persona, highlighting her growth and the complexities of dating in the public eye.
