Sharon Osbourne makes her first public comment after Ozzy Osbourne’s death, as fans honor the rock legend by bidding on his iconic memorabilia.
Just a day after the devastating loss of Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne has quietly broken her silence.
The 72-year-old matriarch of the Osbourne family made her first public comment following her husband's passing on July 22 by responding to a heartfelt Instagram tribute from musician Gavin Rossdale.
While brief, her words carried weight: "Bless you," she wrote in the comment section beneath Rossdale's message, which honored Ozzy as "a great man – a true legend."
Though subtle, her reply marked a deeply personal moment for fans still mourning the Prince of Darkness. Many didn't expect her to speak out so soon, especially as the family continues to grieve privately.
Just yesterday (July 22), she and her children – Aimee, Kelly, Jack, and Louis – shared a joint statement confirming Osbourne's passing after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," they wrote. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
The loss of Osbourne, 76, has left the music world reeling. Tributes from around the world continue to pour in, including from fellow rock legends like Elton John, who called Ozzy "a huge trailblazer," and Aquaman actor Jason Momoa, who recently hosted Ozzy's final performance. Social media has been flooded with personal stories, memories, and emotional messages, proving just how deep his influence ran – not only in music, but in pop culture as a whole.
But while the mourning continues, fans are also finding new ways to honor Osbourne's legacy. This time through a highly anticipated memorabilia auction that kicked off this week.
Launched by Gotta Have Rock and Roll, the auction features a rare collection of the singer's personal and stage-worn items. The most buzzed-about piece? A black jacket worn during his Retirement Sucks Tour, signed and inscribed by Osbourne himself. The dramatic, tail-coated jacket is expected to fetch up to $40,000. Also up for grabs: a mesh coat estimated at $30,000 and a signed copy of Blizzard of Ozz, projected to sell for at least $5,000.For many fans, these items represent more than collectibles; they're pieces of rock history.
The auction has quickly become a destination for die-hard supporters hoping to keep the legacy of the Prince of Darkness close. While Osbourne may no longer be with us, his influence, voice, and stage presence continue to live on.
