Craig Conover confirms he did buy an engagement ring for Paige DeSorbo, but Bravoholics think it’s time he moves on and stops reliving the past.
Craig Conover is finally setting the record straight and yes, there was a ring.
During a recent appearance (June 25) on The Toast podcast, the Southern Charm star revealed the engagement ring he had secretly picked out for his ex-girlfriend, Summer House’s Paige DeSorbo.
In a surprising moment, he pulled up a photo of the sparkler on his phone, proving once and for all that the ring did, in fact, exist – despite DeSorbo's previous doubts and fan speculation that the whole thing may have been fabricated.
“I just heard about that [rumor],” Conover told host Jackie Oshry. "I mean, I heard a lot of nasty things about myself in the last six months. I don't think you ever get used to it but you learn how to, like, process them. The ring one was a bummer because it was such a fun memory," he added.
He recalled sneaking away to the Diamond District in New York City with his brother and sister-in-law to pick out the ring, which he planned to present after their Bravo shows finished filming last summer. He kept the mission secret from DeSorbo, telling her he was meeting with production.
"It was such a good experience [shopping] for the ring. [Paige] had told me, she was like, 'It's time.' I was happy and we were having a great couple of months. Really, the whole relationship was great until it wasn't," he said.
During the podcast episode, he pulled up a photo of the massive diamond on his phone, leaving Oshry practically speechless. With his permission, she flashed the image to the camera, putting the ring’s impressive size and clarity on full display. She also confirmed that the photo came with both a timestamp and a geotag, adding credibility to the reveal.
"I can confrim that photo was taken in Charleston. [The ring] is really so pretty." said Oshry. "Returning an engagement ring isn't something you plan on doing. It's funny because when I bought it, the jeweler said, 'Hey, in case anything happens, I'll work with you [to return it].' When I brought it back, I felt weird but it wasn't weird," Conover expalined.
Conover clarified that the diamond was a four carat cushion cut.
The jeweler said that the ring had "gone down [in value] a little bit" since Conover bought it. "I was like, 'It's ok. I don't need the money now. You need [to take] custody of this. I don't need it in my house.'"
Bravoholics aren’t exactly shocked by the confirmation – many believed it would’ve been too bizarre a thing to lie about. Still, now that the truth is out, fans are urging Conover to finally let it go.
One fan wrote on social media, “We get it. You bought the ring. Time to move on.”
What really raised eyebrows, though, was Conover's admission that he’s been turning to both in-person therapy and ChatGPT to work through the heartbreak. The AI detail left some fans puzzled, while others found it refreshingly relatable – showing just how lost the Bravo star has felt post-breakup. Although he tried dating after the public split, he confirmed that he's now single.
“I was seeing a really, really nice girl,” he said of a short-lived fling after DeSorbo. “She’ll be someone’s perfect person. I just wasn’t ready to date, but I didn’t know that at the time.”
While he may still be navigating life after DeSorbo, Conover remains hopeful about love and Bravoholics are rooting for his healing journey. How do you feel about this confession? Let us know your Fan Of View in the comments below or on social media at @fandomdaily_.
